THE 22nd Annual BIS Conference took place in Basel, Switzerland on June 23, 2023. The event brought together a distinguished group of central bank governors, eminent academics and former civil servants to exchange views on the theme “Central Banks , macro-financial stability and the future of the financial system. system”. Papers presented at the conference are published under BIS Working Numbers, Nos. 1136, 1137 and 1138.
BIS Document No. 140 contains keynote addresses on “Monetary Policy and Financial Stability: An American Perspective” by Esther L George (former President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City) and on “Power and Progress: Our Millennial Struggle for Technology and Prosperity” by Daron Acemoğlu (Institute Professor, Massachusetts Institute of Technology). It also contains remarks from two round tables.
