The launch of the iPhone 15 doesn’t just mean we have some shiny new smartphones to check out – check out our iPhone 15 review for more details – this also means the iPhone16 rumors and leaks can seriously start.
About the iPhone 2024 range, the usually reliable device MacRumors got information about the weights and dimensions of iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
The news appears to be that the more expensive Pro models are getting a bump in screen size: the iPhone 16 Pro’s screen will apparently measure 6.3 inches from corner to corner, up from 6.1 inches for the Pro model. iPhone 15 Proand the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s screen is expected to measure 6.9 inches, compared to 6.7 inches on this year’s model.
Next year’s Pro and Pro Max will therefore be a little wider, taller and heavier, according to information obtained by MacRumors. In the meantime, Apple should stick to the same grade 5 titanium material used in the 2023 Pro and Pro Max.
More models
As for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, it looks like there won’t be too much change in terms of dimensions. The phones will, however, be slightly heavier than their predecessors, by two grams in each case.
MacRumors also suggests that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are in line for a redesigned camera bump, with vertical alignment for the lenses reminiscent of the design we saw with the iPhone12.
The same report mentions a potential new Capture button on all iPhone 16 models, which has been previously mentioned. Other iPhone 16 rumors point to a very decent set of camera upgrades too.
It is not the first time that we’ve heard about supersized versions of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, but MacRumors is keen to point out that this information is “remarkably early” in the development of the phones and that the designs are “far from being finalized” – so keep that in mind.
