August 10, Singapore: Ethereum Singapore 2023, which will bring together builders, developers and communities to grow the thriving Ethereum ecosystem, is set to raise its curtains on September 10. The 3-day event is supported by community partners, including the Ethereum Singapore Meetup group, and sets the stage to highlight the positive potential of Web3 with real-world use cases from local nonprofits. It is expected to attract more than 2,000 developers from around the world.
The event theme “Infinite Garden City” reflects Singapore’s identity as a city in a garden and reflects the vision of Ethereum as an infinite garden for everything that evolves organically with the support of the people who maintain the space.
It aims to cultivate local impact in the nonprofit and public goods space and seed the future of talent while showing how local communities can come together to create a dynamic tapestry of the Ethereum ecosystem of Singapore.
“Singapore is the global example of efficient transport, infrastructure and healthcare. We are excited to shine a light on another side of Singapore that is its beating heart: our local communities. Ethereum Singapore 2023 will be an opportunity for the Ethereum community to tackle problems while designing meaningful solutions in the non-profit space and show the world the possibilities of using technology for good,” says Qing Ze Um, responsible for Ethereum Singapore 2023. .
“Since the first Ethereum conference held in 2015, the Singapore community has become an Asian powerhouse, attracting all kinds of new Dapps, innovation and funding interests, and talent to the country. In 2023, we are very optimistic about what the next 5 years will bring us with this developer-focused conference,” says Shaun Djie, Founder of Ethereum Singapore Meetup Group. Founded in 2016, the community now has over 9,000 members with the aim of engaging and expanding the Ethereum ecosystem in Singapore.
The event will be divided into themed spaces including decentralized finance, infrastructure, security, layer 2, builders and students, each serving as a community hub while being a hotbed of incredible ideas and actions. From beginner workshops on how to start participating in the Ethereum ecosystem, to technical and inspirational talks on advanced topics such as privacy, scaling and zero-knowledge technology, it will appeal to tech enthusiasts and businesses, whatever their stage of growth.
An open source hackathon called “Hack for Good” will solve challenges highlighted by local nonprofit and social enterprises and will consist of quadratic funding in which participating organizations vote for their favorite projects and choose winners. This will all culminate in an open source playbook that will be published worldwide to serve as inspiration for people who also want to do this with their local communities.
