Interlink Telecom Public Company (ITEL), a Thai network service provider, has adopted Ribbon Communications’ Apollo optical network platform for its Data Center Interconnect (DCI) solution.
DCI (Data Center Interconnect) technology connects two or more data centers to share resources. Service providers like ITEL offer different options for DCI.
DCI has several safety and quality advantages. DCI links can provide more detailed traffic encryption to make information sharing more secure. It also allows businesses to enforce quality of service (QoS) and other policies to ensure performance.
The vendor’s solution leverages the Apollo 9901X OTN access switch to map multiple data center services onto high-speed DCI links under software control. Instead of requiring operators to map multi-color interfaces onto a ring using multiplexers, each requiring engineering, the OTN 9901X supports all services on a single 100G wavelength.
Ribbon’s 9901X works with Apollo Metro and Core OTN switches under a common management interface to maximize the benefits of OTN switching in rapid provisioning, wavelength preparation and automated restoration across the entire network. optical network.
“Ribbon’s rapid delivery allowed us to successfully deploy our service on time. We are confident that we can count on Ribbon for the critical and time-sensitive projects that are at the heart of our offering,” said Nuttanai Anuntarumporn, CEO of ITEL. “Ribbon exceeded our expectations and paved the way for new, normal, and tight-deadline projects. »
