Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP ), announced the details of the highly anticipated “Knowledge Summit 2023”.
Scheduled for November 21-22, 2023, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, and featuring a virtual day on November 23, 2023, this summit promises to be an unprecedented confluence of minds and ideas.
This announcement was made during a press conference organized by MBRF at the Dubai Press Club in the presence of His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF; Khaled Abdel Shafi, head of the regional hub at UNDP via Zoom; and Dr Hany Torky, Chief Technical Advisor of the UNDP Knowledge Project.
Themed “Knowledge Cities and the Fifth Industrial Revolution,” the eighth edition of the Knowledge Summit will focus on the central role of knowledge in shaping the foundation of knowledge cities. These cities are poised to become indispensable pillars of the future economic model, fostering dynamic environments conducive to innovation and creativity, improving the overall quality of life of individuals and advancing communities.
The summit is expected to attract a host of global experts and specialists from various sectors, thereby facilitating an exchange of experiences and in-depth knowledge. The event agenda includes a series of informative sessions, workshops and lectures, featuring a distinguished selection of keynote speakers. Additionally, it will provide a platform to showcase the latest technologies and innovations in various sectors.
The summit will also devote special attention to the transformative technologies of the Fifth Industrial Revolution and the global metamorphosis it has initiated in conventional business models. It will highlight the central role of this revolution in improving communication between individuals and digital systems, strengthening cybersecurity, promoting energy efficiency and increasing the overall efficiency of networks.
Additionally, the summit will highlight the results of the Global Knowledge Index (GKI), a pioneering global indicator designed to comprehensively track the global knowledge landscape. The GKI is designed to assess the state of knowledge in various countries, identify their strengths and weaknesses, and draw attention to the interaction between knowledge and development, as well as ways to keep pace with change.
The Knowledge Summit 2023 will host 43 dynamic sessions, addressing various topics including digital health, sustainable tourism strategies, educational transformation tools, building knowledge cities, 5th generation of educational technologies, impact of the fifth industrial revolution on startups and the biotechnology industry, improving cybersecurity and creating media and content in the era of artificial intelligence technologies.
In addition, the sessions and activities also cover topics such as examining smart and sustainable solutions, presenting perspectives on the Sustainable Development Goals in the era of the Fifth Industrial Revolution, the concept of Human Society 5.0 and waste-to-fuel strategies.
