LinkedIn plans to lay off more than 660 people across its engineering, product, talent and finance teams, it announced Monday, representing more than 3% of the company’s global workforce. From a report: LinkedIn has seen two major waves of layoffs this year, following the elimination of 716 jobs in May and the shutdown of its Chinese app InCareer. The reductions were announced alongside a broader restructuring of the company’s global sales organization. The positions are being eliminated as part of the company’s broader efforts to optimize artificial intelligence. LinkedIn released a series of new AI product features earlier this month, including AI-powered candidate discovery for recruiters and AI-powered coaching for LinkedIn premium subscribers.
