Bhubaneswar: Startup Odisha of MSME department on Friday announced the launch of Odisha Startup Yatra and Startup Express 2023, which will bring together young minds to deliberate on innovation and entrepreneurship. The initiatives, which will be announced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday, will primarily focus on guidance and empowerment of youth at the grassroots level. These initiatives will enable them to seize the innumerable opportunities offered by the startup ecosystem, officials said. Through a series of engaging activities, the Startup Yatra and Startup Xpress initiatives will bring together over 25,000 students from over 200 colleges and 60 schools from across. the State on a single platform. As part of these initiatives, Startup Odisha will organize over 200 van camps in colleges along with 60 in various schools across the state. This will be followed by the conduct of over 120 boot camps, which are expected to generate over 3,500 ideas. “As Odisha moves towards its mission of having 5,000 startups by 2025, Odisha Startup Yatra and Startup Xpress 2023 will play a vital role in bringing innovations. ideas at the forefront,” Minister of Power and SMEs Pratap Keshari Deb said at the launch ceremony. In the last edition, more than 30 training camps and 114 van camps were organized in educational institutions covering all 30 districts. As many as 1,350 ideas were generated during the camps, out of which the best 22 received a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh each. Officials said in the upcoming edition of Startup Yatra, at least 50 ideas will be selected for a three-day acceleration program.
