Ethereum experienced transaction processing issues on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at approximately 4:13 p.m. Eastern Time, and the transaction finality issues lasted for approximately 25 minutes. Currently, the developers do not know what caused the problem and the blockchain is now functioning normally.
Ethereum network experiences temporary transaction processing issues
The Ethereum blockchain was unable to process ETH Transaction and consensus reached for approximately 25 minutes just after 4:00 p.m. ET on Thursday. Ansar Dietrich, researcher at the Ethereum Foundation Said: “The Beacon channel has just experienced a brief period of non-finalization. Good example of on-chain robustness – even though there was some block slowdown, transactions continued to process as usual. We are back to normal now. “
Also Preston Van Loon, co-founder of Prismatic Labs informed It was announced that the developers were “investigating current mainnet issues…will release an update once we learn anything.” About an hour later, at 5:40 p.m., the developer wrote,
Finality has been restored. We don’t know the root cause yet, but something happened because of which many customers are struggling to follow the implementation chain.
In addition to Dietrich and Van Loon, community health advisor to Ethereum Beacon Chain, Superfiz, wrote on Twitter about this issue. Superfizz said: “The Beacon channel stopped finalizing about thirty minutes ago. “I don’t know why yet, but in general the chain is designed to resist this, transactions will continue as normal and finalization will begin when the problem is resolved.”
The problems come at a time when Ethereum developers have been Discussion Block validity status and next hard fork called “Denkun”. The upgrade will contain a proposal for improving Ethereum (PEI) 4844, otherwise known as “proto-danksharing”. Once the problem with the tag string is resolved, Superfiz Stressed about that “whatever the reason (the question of finality of the transaction), we must continue to harden each vector”.
