Montigny-le-Bretonneux, October 24, 2023 – Faced with the shortage of talent and the lack of young graduates with scientific training, the Software République, an open innovation ecosystem for intelligent, secure and sustainable mobility launched by Dassault Systèmes, Eviden, an Atos company, Orange, the Renault group, STMicroelectronics and Thales present for the first time the achievements of their “Talent Academy“, with the aim of improving the employability of talents and the competitiveness of companies.
As a member of European Year of Skills 2023the presentation of this collaborative training ecosystem took place in the presence of Mr. Jean-Noël BarrotMinister Delegate for Digital to the Minister of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, and Ms. Marianne de Brunhoffdeputy coordinator of the European Year of Skills, Ministry of Labour, Full Employment and Inclusion.
Unique in France and Europe, the “Talent Academy“responds to the challenges of training and skills development in the field of digital sciences and engineering, serving young people and employees of companies in the Republic of Software. Its objective is to guide young people, particularly young women, towards scientific and technical careers, to attract future talents to the Software République ecosystem, and to promote the development and upskilling of skills through training and retraining programs.
“This initiative will be of interest to first and final year students specializing in Engineering Sciences (IS), as well as high school and CPGE teachers.1 students and their teachers. Concepts related to AI and learning are new in high school and CPGE IS programs, and many colleagues are looking for applications to illustrate their courses,” said Sébastien Gergadier, president of the Union of Teachers of Industrial Sciences and Techniques (UPSTI).
The achievements of “Talent Academy” are structured around three programs which mark the defining moments of a professional career: educate, recruitmentAnd training.
EDUCATE
The “Talent Factory”: This program is dedicated to young people (15-20 years old). He understands:
- Internships for 3rd year classes in companies: Established for the 2023-2024 school year, this program is particularly focused on priority neighborhoods. It is also aimed at young women interested in technological careers (engineers and technicians).
- High school students and students of Preparatory Classes for Grandes Écoles (CPGE). In June 2023, a partnership was signed with the “Syndicat des Enseignants des Sciences et Techniques Industrielles – UPSTI”, which brings together 700 teachers in more than 200 public and private high schools. This initiative aims to involve high school students who have chosen the Engineering Science (IS) specialty, as well as CPGE teachers and their students whose courses are linked to the mobility challenges of tomorrow.
RECRUIT
“Talent incubator”: This program aims to promote the use of apprenticeship as a lever for recruiting candidates with technological skills. The ambition for 2025 is to achieve 20,000 recruitments across all programs. In partnership with the training ecosystems of Software République members and with two schools, School 2600 and EFREI, a community of apprentices was launched in 2022 with two certification training courses in cybersecurity (from Bac+3 to Bac+5). Today, this program has been extended to other schools and other fields, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI)/data or software development. It now brings together 600 apprentices (young people between 20 and 25 years old) within the community led by the “Talent Academy“This program also offers engineering school students the opportunity to work on projects directly linked to the industrial challenges of Software République members.
The objective is also to retain apprentices within Software République through concrete actions:
- Organization of conferences with Software République experts on tech subjects (cybersecurity, data, etc.).
- Meetings with startups from the Software République incubator.
- Visits to industrial sites.
- Share immersive experiences (“H1st Vision”, the Software République concept car unveiled at VivaTech 2023).
FORM
“Talent accelerator“: The objective of this program is to consolidate the skills development and retraining paths of employees upon their entry into the founding companies of Software République. This program is a complementary pillar to the training policies already implemented by each of the groups by sharing their corporate university training programs. Several of these programs are already shared between its members, such as certified training courses for excellence in cybersecurity with the Institut Polytechnique de Paris and Orange Cyberdefense, to support the transformation of skills. The ambition for 2025 is to contribute to the training of around 40,000 Software République employees in tech-related fields.
In support of this program, the Software République participates in events such as the 14th national final of the “Engineering Sciences Olympiads” (Mobility for All Prize – June 2023) and the “Viva Technology 2023” event (Mobility Prize Innovation 2023), and organizes numerous testimonials from leaders of large companies or startups, school engineers (IPE), and women engineers with the association “Elles Bougent” for example.
Thus, with its innovative approach which facilitates access to knowledge, the Talent Academy is the first collaborative training ecosystem set up by large companies, demonstrating the actions they have been able to implement in each of these three programs.
