The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), in collaboration with Save the Children Dominican Republic, launched the regional startup competition focused on education for the future. The competition seeks to find disruptive solutions that can provide new educational opportunities across the tourism sector. Through the competition, we want to give young people the opportunity, given the prosperity of the economy, to develop in their careers.
The competition focuses on two different categories, namely new technologies and social impact. The first category seeks startups with a high technological component to provide solutions or new services related to the tourism and education sector. The second category seeks startups with a strong social transformation and improvement component within its scope of implementation in the tourism and education sector.
Winning startups will have the opportunity to showcase their project at our next UN Tourism Tech Adventure, benefit from investment opportunities, be part of the UN Tourism Innovation Network and benefit mentoring, among others.

The World Tourism Organization, the Athletic Club of Bilbao and the Provincial Deputation of Vizcaya have launched the Smart Solutions for Smart Destinations Challenge to stimulate innovation and promote entrepreneurship in tourism.
This new challenge is aimed at startups with innovative and intelligent ideas to maximize the visitor experience in stadiums or during events. All solutions must facilitate the entire tourism experience, including before and after an event, not just during it.
The competition is particularly looking for ideas whose benefits will be felt throughout the Vizcaya region, complementing the work of the Athletic Club.
The winning startups will have the chance to work alongside the Athletic Club for six months to develop a pilot project.
