Ride1Up has launched an off-road version of its Revv 1 full-suspension e-bike, which rides with a similar motorcycle-inspired vibe but benefits from a number of key updates designed to “enhance your riding experience while tackling more rugged terrain.
The arrival of Rev. 1 Last year marked a departure for Ride1Up from e-bikes that look like traditional bikes without a motor into the fun territory of retro mopeds like Super73, Juice, Ancient, Brekr And Engwe. Such rides definitely occupy a niche market for e-bikes and are aimed primarily at young adults.
The DRT version takes the motorcycle-inspired thrills off the beaten track, with revised frame geometry featuring a stretched chassis, longer rear triangle, set-back bottom bracket to harness more power and increased standover height. slightly higher. Pilots can also mount a removable metal alloy plate in the gaping hole beneath the “fuel tank” to carry Molle-compatible accessories into the wilderness.
Although the current FS model features full suspension, the all-terrain e-bike gets a slight boost thanks to a double-crown suspension fork with hydraulic lockout/adjustable preload and 150mm of travel plus a Coil rear shock with rebound adjustment. , compression and preload for a more adapted ride while offering 76 mm of travel.
The DRT ships as a Class 2 (20 mph PAS/throttle) e-bike out of the box, but can be switched to Class 3 (45 mph) or unlocked for off-road riding via the display 3.5 inch handlebar. . It rides with a 52V/1000W Bafang geared hub motor that produces 95 Nm (70 lb.ft) of torque for “a hot dose of adrenaline when you twist the throttle or pedal.” A boost function is also available for extra grunt on climbs.
The 1,040 Wh “fuel tank” battery remains the same as the FS model, a 1,040 Wh pack made up of Samsung 21700 cells. The e-bike's 20-inch wheels are now spoked (instead of alloy cast) and wrapped in custom 4 inch wide knobby Innova tires. Ride1Up notes that this setup will negatively affect battery efficiency when riding on the pavement, although there is the option of purchasing a second battery for more time away from a wall outlet.
Reliable stopping power comes from 4-piston hydraulic brakes with motor cutoff and 203mm rotors. Elsewhere, the e-bike sports a slimmer cafe-style saddle than its Revv 1 siblings, the motorcycle-style high/low headlight benefits from a custom fairing, as well as a brake taillight, inspired fenders motocross and a side stand.
“The introduction of the Revv 1 DRT marks a significant milestone in Ride1Up’s commitment to delivering unparalleled performance for off-road e-bikes,” the company said in a blog post. “With a purpose-built design and a host of specialized features, the DRT demonstrates Ride1Up’s commitment to meeting the needs of adventurous riders seeking thrills beyond the pavement.”
The Revv 1 DRT all-terrain electric bike is currently priced at a pre-launch price of US$2,495, with shipping to customers expected to begin in early June. Optional extras include a belly storage cage and a rear rack. The video below has more.
