Announced with a series of other new accessibility featuresVehicle motion signals turn the motion sensors built into iPhones and iPads into disease-fighting aids.

“Research shows that motion sickness is usually caused by a sensory conflict between what a person sees and what they feel, which may prevent some users from comfortably using their iPhone or iPad while riding in a moving vehicle,” Apple explained.

When the new setting is enabled, a user's phone will start displaying animated black dots around the edges of the screen. The dots move with the movement of the phone or vehicle to reduce the aforementioned sensory conflict, moving across the screen when a vehicle turns right or left or suddenly stops, “without interfering with the main content.”
