In a recent interviewProminent venture capitalist Tim Draper has predicted that the price of Bitcoin could potentially reach $10 million.
“Now, $250,000 or a million, or $2 million, or even $10 million, are the numbers that are probably going to happen for several reasons… When you can buy your food, your clothes, your shelter and pay your taxes, all in Bitcoin, it’s a done deal, you won’t want to use any other currency,” says Draper.
The billionaire, known for his early bets on companies like Skype, predicts the devaluation of the United States against Bitcoin.
Speaking of the upcoming halving event, which will take place in just a few hours, Draper predicts that the price of the largest cryptocurrency will rise again.
It should be noted that this halving cycle is different due to the fact that Bitcoin price reached a new all-time high before the block reward reduction thanks to the success of spot ETFs. Draper described ETFs as an “accelerator” he didn’t anticipate.
Draper, an early investor in Bitcoin, once rightly predicted that the price of the largest cryptocurrency could exceed $10,000 in 2017.
As reported by U.Today, Draper also repeatedly predicted that Bitcoin would reach $250,000 in 2022. However, this prediction turned out to be inaccurate. “I think my pride got the better of me,” Draper said. The billionaire explains that his prediction did not come true because regulators had a heavy hand. Draper also expected Bitcoin payments to become “mainstream” in 2022, but that was not the case. “Those are the two things that have slowed progress,” he added.
