Com2uS Group, a major South Korean game publisher, has officially entered the Oasis crypto gaming ecosystem by launching its own layer 2 chain called XPLA Verse, as well as two important titles in major franchises.
XPLA Verse is now home to Summoners War: Chronicles, an action role-playing game spinoff from the popular Summoners War: Sky Arena, which has over 220 million downloads. It also now hosts The Walking Dead: All-Stars, based on the zombie comic book series.
Com2uS, well known for its mobile gaming presence in South Korea, accelerated its Web3 strategy and participated in the Oasys ecosystem as the first validator last year. In February, the company announced plans to move its existing XPLA crypto gaming ecosystem to Oasys, starting with these two major games.
“Com2uS and XPLA aim to leverage Oasys’ in-depth knowledge of the Japanese regulatory framework to strengthen their market presence and onboard more East Asian users,” an official statement said.
Oasys has courted a number of major video game publishers and developers, including Ubisoft, which is building its first original blockchain game, called Tactics of Champions: Chronicles of Grimoria-on the network for release later this year. Sega also brought its IP to the network, while Bandai Namco launched a experimental AI-based game Last year.
