📝 As part of its 2025 program Epic Implementing the EPR, East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust has awarded a two-year contract to Dakota Integrated Solutions Ltd.. Valued at just over £1 million, the contract will see Dakota supply mobile devices, printers and barcode readers, as well as offering training, maintenance and support for data capture hardware and services.
👶 Telefonica Tech is to provide numerous infrastructure technology solutions to Children's Health Ireland for the new digital children's hospital, scheduled to open in 2025. A five-year contract will see Telefónica Tech oversee all servers, storage, security, printers, PCs, wheeled workstations and laptops. , with a platform that will support clinical applications that will integrate with Epic's hospital EPR system.
💷 Health Key has raised £1.13 million in a funding round led by Aviva Ventures. The funding will allow the digital health platform to focus on improving its capabilities, as well as increasing the number of integrations with health and life insurers, health plan providers and employer companies. This will also expand the selection of healthcare providers available through the platform. Existing services available through Healthkey include preventative healthcare experts like Thriva Health; reproductive health specialists like Hertility; mental wellness services like Flow neuroscience and more.

It follows a successful six-month pilot at the NHS Golden Jubilee Eye Center in 2021. WelcoMe allows users to create and share an accessibility profile for their specific needs to make their hospital visits easier.

Purchasing power worth millions of pounds for the local economies of the Humber and North Yorkshire would be freed up if England became completely smoke-free, a new study has found.
The research, led by the University of Sheffield's Addiction Research Group in collaboration with the University of Nottingham, reveals that if everyone in the country stopped smoking, the economic gain would be equivalent to £1,776 per smoker or £246 per adult, regardless of smoking status – money. which could then be spent in local communities.
Overall, the study suggests that completely quitting smoking could free up £10.9 billion nationally and £1.2 billion in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
