What you should know:
– Eco Healtha leader in Powered by AI early detection of heart and lung diseases, today announced the successful completion of a $41 million Series D funding round.
– This financing, led by ARTIS Ventures, Highland Capital Partners, NTTVCAnd Questa Capitalwill fuel Eko’s mission to expand access to its innovative platform in the United States and around the world.
Building on a solid foundation of innovation and clinical validation
This fundraising follows significant commercial and clinical achievements for Eko. Their AI algorithms for detecting structural heart murmurs and low ejection fraction (Low EF) have both received FDA clearance in the United States.
- Structural heart murmur detection: A study from Massachusetts General Hospital demonstrated that Eko's algorithm was twice as effective as conventional primary care practices in identifying structural heart murmurs.
- Low ejection fraction detection: Developed in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic, a study from Imperial College London showed that Eko's algorithm significantly improved the identification of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction in GP clinics.
By enhancing detection capabilities, Eko's platform streamlines diagnosis, facilitating earlier interventions and improving patient outcomes.
Addressing the global burden of cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases
Cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases are the leading causes of death worldwide. Millions of people remain undiagnosed due to limited access to effective detection tools. Eko fills this gap by integrating sophisticated AI capabilities into routine physical exams. These range from primary care facilities like the NCH Healthcare System in the United States to maternal and fetal health checkups in Nigeria.
Global expansion and empowerment of healthcare professionals
Eko will leverage the new capital to consolidate its presence in the United States and accelerate its international expansion. This is further strengthened by strategic investments from Double Point Ventures (US), EDBI (the investment arm of the Singapore Economic Development Board) and LG Technology Ventures (backed by South Korea's LG Group ).
With this funding, regulatory approvals and a growing network of global partners, Eko is poised to rapidly expand access to its AI-powered platform. This will enable millions of healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes in the years to come.
"Eko harnesses AI to unlock universal access to expert-level cardiac and pulmonary disease detection for patients everywhere,” said Connor Landgraf, CEO and co-founder of Eko Health. “Just as Ring transformed doorbells into home security systems, Eko has reinvented the world’s most ubiquitous medical tool into a powerful early disease detection platform, creating the world’s largest install base of professional AI-enabled cardiology devices."
