Ethereum layer 2 solution Blast continues to be a lucrative place to make money. On Thursday, Twitter user Punk9059, a notable pseudonymous crypto personality, said he had earned well over $100,000 in crypto, primarily by posting two tweets related to the Pacmoon meme coin.
“I was paid over $100,000 for two tweets” Punk9059 tweeted. “The crazy thing is, I didn’t know this would happen.”
Pacmoon is a meme coin on the Breath Network, which launched its mainnet in late February. The Blast Network has attracted considerable attention, amassing a total value of over $1.4 billion before its launch. next BLAST token airdrop end of June.
Meme Coins are tokens based on internet memes, celebrities or brands. Pacmoon uses Pac-Man-inspired visuals and rewards social media interaction and community engagement by offering its supporters tokens for sharing relevant content.
Showing the tweets, Punk9059 – who works for Memeland and previously worked at Proof – said the first tweet announced a free airdrop from Pacmoon (PAC) tokens to Blast stakeholders, as well as its sponsorship code, on February 28. It was a popular tweet, of course, but the benefits were even greater than expected thanks to a mistake.
“This tweet went viral,” Punk9059 said. “People copy/paste the text. And my friend (Frank DeGods) mistakenly tweeted my code instead of his.
Frank DeGods, aka Rohun Vora, is the founder of the DeGods and y00ts NFT projects and has a significant number of followers on Twitter. His erroneous sponsorship code sharing ultimately made a big profit for Punk9059, even though at the time the PAC token wasn't worth much.
Punk9059 said he gave Frank $50 as a thank you after he mistakenly tweeted the wrong referral code. And that tweet, including the photo of Frank holding a $50 bill while being hugged by Punk9059, also went viral, leading to more rewards.
He received 354,179 PAC for referrals, followed by another 698,137 PAC tokens for tweet views, ultimately totaling 1,052,316 tokens, which equates to $168,370 on Thursday. As of this writing, that total is worth around $218,000, with PAC up 7% in the last 24 hours.
“There were a few more tweets thrown into the mix, but these two did the lion's share of the work,” Punk9059 said. “The best part? My followers also received a W if they saw the tweet and signed up.
“We will take it,” he added.
Punk9059 did not immediately respond to Decrypt request for comment.
