Tthere yen is on a crazy adventure. In early trading, as Asian markets opened on April 29, the currency fell to a 34-year low of 160 per dollar, adding to its sharp fall against the greenback over the past three years ( see graph). In the afternoon, the decline was sharply reversed. The yen rose more than 2%, ending the Asian trading day at 155 to the dollar.
