Tired of using the same set of emojis? Good news. There may be more soon.
On its website, the Unicode Consortium (a nonprofit that, among other things, decides which emoji appear on people's phones) has released some samples of the next batch of emoji that could soon be coming to iOS and Android.
As Deadline pointed out, the most likely launch period for these projects is early next year, based on historical precedent.
Crushable speed of light
What new emojis could be coming to your phone?
The most important thing to note here is that there is an emoji that has bags under its eyes.

This is one that will likely make its way into everyone's rotation because, with the way the world is changing, I wouldn't be surprised at its frequent use. Other potential new emoji include a leafless tree, a fingerprint, a harp and a shovel.
According to BGR, this is all part of a beta period that lasts until July 2, after which the Consortium will announce the new official batch of emoji. From there, it's up to companies like Apple and Google to adopt them at the software level.
If they could just speed up the treatment of dark circles under the eyes, that would be great.
